Online Safety

St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School provides safe access to the Internet and digital technology to help pupils learn and achieve. Just as learners need to stay safe in the real world, learners need to be safe in the digital world. Teaching children to be safe and responsible users of digital devices and on the internet is part of our computing and EPR curriculum.

This Online Safety page provides tips, advice and resources to help children, young people and adults stay safe on the Internet. There are also links to guides on how to restrict inappropriate content on certain digital devices.

Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day 2025 takes place on the 11th of February 2025, with celebrations and learning based around the theme ‘Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online'

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the celebration sees thousands of organisations get involved to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

We put children and young people’s voices at the heart of the day and encourage them to shape the online safety support that they receive.

Safer Internet Day is a springboard for conversations that shape how we talk about and respond to online issues, not just for one day, but throughout the whole year.
