We have enjoyed a thoroughly exciting week as part of World Book Day. Each class has been busy drafting and perfecting a collective piece of descriptive writing that would serve to form an entire narrative created by each Key Stage. Key Stage 1 spent this week focusing on ‘The Bridge’ – a short film that highlights the importance of teamwork. While in Key Stage 2 the children engrossed themselves in the animated short movie ‘The Lighthouse’, describing just how one lonely Lighthouse keeper overcame the dangerous situation of his light not working! Children enjoyed using a visual stimulus to assist their descriptive writing.
I would like to thank everyone who supported the book fair. We will receive a percentage of the proceeds to spend on books for classrooms.
Finally, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for all of the thought and effort put into vocabulary costumes for our ‘Vocabulary Parade’ on Wednesday this week – the children were so excited to come into school and share their words, and it was an wonderful occasion to share as a whole school.
A special thank you to Mrs Williams and Miss Date for organising the week.
Congratulations to our two winners James Johnston (KS2) and Sebastian Fitzpatrick(KS1).
