This week is ‘Drowning Prevention Week’ and lifeguards and trainers from the Royal Life Saving Society delivered an assembly on keeping safe in the  water. The children learnt how to call for help if they see anyone in danger, how to launch a buoyancy aid and know they should never enter the water themselves to rescue anyone as it may be dangerous to them.

They also learnt how to help themselves if in danger and to recognise the flags that denote safe swimming areas on the beach.
